She was a native of New Orleans. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Schroeder of New Orleans; two grandchildren; and a great- grandchild. Christopher Schroeder died on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center following a brief illness. A longtime resident of Baton Rouge, he was 60, born on Nov. 18, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio. He was a regional security coordinator for Whitney National Bank. Chris was a retired captain with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office, where he served in a distinguished career for 27 years. He was a graduate of LSU in Russian language and literature. He held a master of criminal justice from LSU and was a 1984 graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's National Academy in Quantico, Va. Chris' extensive training and expertise in various areas of law enforcement tactics, procedures and policies made him a valuable asset to the law enforcement community both locally and nationally. He was a member of St John's Methodist Church. Chris is survived by his wife of 28 years, Betty; son, Benjamin Luke, of Hammond; brother, Dr. Richard Schroeder and wife Leah; nephew, Michael Schroeder, of Washington, D.C.; and parents, Dr. Adolf and Rebecca Schroeder, of Columbia, Mo. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Rome, 825 Government St., on Sunday, Nov. 23, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting continues at St. John's United Methodist Church on Monday, Nov. 24, after 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Tim Lawson. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He was a native of New Orleans and served in the Seabee division of the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean conflict. He was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church of Hammond. He is survived by his wife, Camille Baron Schroeder of Albany; one daughter, Nancy Schroeder of Metairie; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial service was held Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hammond.
