She was born July 18, 1924, in Hammond daughter of the late Philip and Frances Pecoraro Tallia. Surviving are three daughters, Janet S. Milazzo, Frances S. Mashon, Carolyn S. Gray; two sisters, Frances T. Ferrara, Josie T. Gulotta; two brothers, Frank and Vito Tallia; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Charles V. Sciortino; daughter, Phyliss S. Monistere; son, Joe Sciortino; and brother, John Tallia. Friends will be received Friday, November 24 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church after 8:30 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Hank Groover, Celebrant officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, Hammond. He is survived by his widow, the former Virginia Giardinella; three sons, Charles, Tom and L. J.
