She was a native of Texas and a resident of Ponchatoula. Mrs. Seely was a Ward Secretary at the former Westpark Community Hospital. Survivors include her 3 children, Eva Buckland, Ponchatoula, Scarlett (and Mark Rock) Hamilton, Robert, and Parrish Seely, Ponchatoula; 4 grand- children, Amanda (David) Cappel, Jeremy Hamilton, Tara Buckland, and Cordell Seely; great-grandson, Christian Cappel; and former husband, Raymond Seely, Ponchatoula. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Camille Bancroft Lawrence. Visitation at Geisler Funeral Home in Ponchatoula on Friday, August 24, 2007 from 6 until 9 pm and on Saturday after 8:30 am until the religious service at 10 am. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans. www.geislerfuneralhome.net *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star: 9/1/2009 SEELY, JOSEPH HENRY Joseph Henry Seely, age 94 years, died Sunday August 30, 2009, at Landmark Care Center in Hammond, LA. He was born in New Orleans on March 28, 1915 and was a resident of Tickfaw, since 1968 when he retired from the IRS. He was a World War II Army veteran, having witnesses the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. After the he was the first Louisiana resident to be discharged in 1945. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Dimaggio Seely, his parents Joseph and Leona Ritter Seely, and his two brothers, Stanley E. Seely and Russel C. Seely. He is survived by his nieces, Joyce S. Hensley of Baton Rouge and Lorraine S. Pecot of Slidell and his great nephew and nieces, Russel L. Pecot, Jennifer P. Gordon, Victoria P. Verges and Catherine Hensley as well as nine great-great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at Our lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, from 9:00a.m. until services. Services will be held at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at 11:00a.m. Interment will follow in the Tickfaw Catholic cemetery.
