SHAHEEN, GABRIEL "GABE" 
A self-employed welder, Gabriel "Gabe" Shaheen died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006,
at his home in Hammond. He was 86, born Friday, Dec. 5, 1919, in Amite, and
was the son of the late Peter Shaheen and Rosa Norman Maloof Shaheen.
Surviving are his stepson, Michael Stevens Louber; stepdaughter, Courtney
L. Loiacano; and numerous cousins and close friends. He was also preceded
in death by his wife, Elizabeth Fitch Shaheen. Friends will be received at
Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, on Wednesday, Jan. 18, from 
6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, Jan. 19, in the chapel from 8:30 a.m.
until service at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Paul Bailey officiating. Interment
in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond. Contributions may be made to the American
