She was a native of San Antonio, Texas. Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Morgan of Hammond; Gwendolyn Alexander of Fort Worth, Texas, and Sandra Cranford of San Antonio; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. Shaw, 83, mother of Mrs. Powell P. Vail of this city, who was found dead in bed Wednesday morning, were held Thursday from Holy Ghost Catholic church. The body rested at Poole Funeral Home until time for church services. The body was taken to the Fisher Funeral Home in Vicksburg, Miss., until religious services Friday from St. Paul's Catholic church. Interment will be in City cemetery in Vicksburg. Mrs. Shaw, the former Miss Katherine Lynch of County Kerry, Ireland, made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Powell P. Vail. During part of each year she always went to Vicksburg to spend time with her other daughter, Mrs. John F. Halpin. Mrs. Shaw, affectionally known to friends as "Dearie" celebrated her 83rd birthday on May 1st of last year. Mrs. Shaw was first married to the late John F. Miller of New Orleans, and to the late Captain George A. Shaw of Virginia and Vicksburg, Miss. by a second marriage. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Powell P. Vail of Hammond; and Mrs. John F. Halpin of Vicksburg, Miss.; four granddaughteres, two grandsons and five great-grandchildren.
