SHEPHERD, ELVIN TURNER, SR.      

A laborer and resident of Baton Rouge, he died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at 10:21 
p.m. at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. He was 42 and a native of Independence. 
Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home, 7221 Plank Road, from 8:30 a.m. Friday until 
religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by Melvin Shepherd. Interment in 
Winnfield Memorial Park. Survived by his mother, Cinderella Shepherd; a daughter, 
Daphanie Marie Shepherd; three sons, Elvin T. Shepherd Jr., Kelvin T. Shepherd 
and Telvin T. Shepherd; six sisters, Mary Ann Lavalais, Ophelia S. Davis, Rose 
Shepherd, Joyce Sam, Jean Shepherd McGhee and Susie Shepherd; and five brothers, 
Melvin, Edward C. Sr., Ellison C. Sr., Dennis C. and Phillip Shepherd.

and Mrs. L. P. Levee of New Orleans; one brother, J. Temple
