SHUMAKE, SHIRLEY JANE ECKHOFF
Shirley Jane Eckhoff Shumake, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grand-
mother and friend died on July 20, 2007, in her home in Ponchatoula
surrounded by loving family. Shirley was born in Algiers, LA on September
21, 1924. She was the wife of the late Jesse B. Shumake of Algiers, LA.
Shirley was the child of the late William B. Eckhoff and the late Alma Jane
Martin Eckhoff of Algiers, LA and brother of the late Bernard Eckhoff of
Nashua, NH.  Shirley was greatly loved by her three daughters and their
spouses: Alice Shumake Ivy and her husband, Gene Ivy; Jessie Shumake and
her husband Tom Robichaux; and Kelly Jean Shumake and her fianc/e, Randy
Wiley.  Shirley was a loving grandmother to Phyllis Ivy Collongues, Rebecca
Gene Ivy, Christina Marie King, Michael Paul Robichaux, Laia Cari
Robichaux, Lindsay Rene/ Wolf, and Chelsae Rhenette Dechara. Shirley was
greatly loved by her four great-grandchildren Monica Renee Collogues,
Brittany Noel Collongues, Joseph Bee Martin, and Audrey Jane Heroy.  She
loved and adopted many dogs and cats. Shirley enjoyed crafts, was an
accomplished seamstress in her youth and loved gardening.  Shirley's life
will be celebrated at Geisler Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, LA on Monday,
July 23, 2007. The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with services at
noon.  Flowers may be sent to Geisler Funeral Home or donations may be sent
to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity in Shirley's name.
