SHURLEY, GARY CLAWSON SR.
Ponchatoula -- Gary Clawson Shurley Sr., 61, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004,
at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.  A native of Baltimore, he is
survived by his wife, Joyce Allen Shurley; three daughters, Marcy Overman
of Ponchatoula, Barbara Perrilloux of Covington and Kimberly Shurley of
North Carolina; one son, Gary Shurley Jr. of Ponchatoula; three sisters, 
Jo Ann Brown and Fredia Price, both of North Carolina, and Jean Horn of
Arizona; two brothers, Thomas Shurley of Ponchatoula and Jackie Shurley of
Atlanta; and eight grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents,
Gary and Alma Shurley; and one granddaughter, Jaime Shurley.  Visitation
will be Thursday at Geisler Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 to 9 p.m. and
Friday from 8:30 until the funeral at 10 a.m.  Burial will be at Cooper
Cemetery, Robert.

SHURLEY, JAIME LEE 
Ponchatoula - Jaime Lee Shurley, 7, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at her 
home. A student at Champ Cooper, she is survived by her parents, Dawn 
Ballard and Gary Shurley Jr. of Ponchatoula; one sister, Megan Ballard 
of Loranger; three brothers, James Shurley and Devin Shurley, both of 
Ponchatoula, and Robert Arena of Folsom; her maternal grandparents, 
Wayne Sr. and Lou Ballard of Ponchatoula and Shirley and Ralph Degenhardt 
of Albany; her paternal grandparents, Gary Sr. and Joyce Allen Shurley of 
Ponchatoula; her maternal great-grandmother, Allie Dragg of Ponchatoula; 
and her paternal great-grandparents, James and Viola Thibodeaux of 
Gretna. She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grand-father, 
Homer Ballard; and maternal great-grandparents, Delvin and Virginia 
Ballard. Visitation will be today at Geisler Funeral Home, Hammond, from 
6 to 9 p.m. and Friday from noon until the funeral at 2 p.m. Burial will 
be at Cooper Cemetery, Ponchatoula.

SHURLEY, JOYCE ANN ALLEN
Joyce Ann Allen Shurley, 52, of Ponchatoula, died January 20, 2009 in North
Oaks Medical Center.  She was born on December 17, 1956 in New Orleans.
Surviving are her daughter, Marcy S. Overman; son, Gary Shurley, Jr.;
mother and step-father, Viola and Jimmy Thibodeaux; seven grandchildren,
James, Chris, Travis, Robbie, Devin, Earl, and Alex; 4 sisters, Virgis
McBride, Verly Davies, Molly Gladney, Linda Gros; 5 brothers, Alvin, Irvin,
Ernest, Horace, and Calvin Gros.  She is preceded in death by her husband,
Gary Clawson Shurley; father, James Allen; granddaughter, Jaime; sister,
Yvonne Bourg; and brother, Anthony Gros.  Friends will be received Friday,
January 23, 2009, at Harry McKneely & Son, Ponchatoula from 6 pm until 
10 pm, and after 8 am on Saturday.  Services will be held at Harry McKneely
& Son Funeral Home, Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 11am with Deacon Larry
Melancon officiating.  Interment will follow in the Cooper Cemetery,
