He was born in Austin, Texas, on June 3, 1927, to Flavia and Louis Shurr. He is survived by his wife, Joy McCoy Shurr; three children, Randy Shurr, Dallas, Larry Shurr, Columbus, Ohio, and Susan Hitchcock, San Diego; and Joy's three children, Blane Arnold, Baton Rouge, Tim Arnold, Hammond, and Tara Turner, Mission Viejo, Calif. Also survived by his cherished siblings, Mary Louise Shell, Cordele, Ga., Vincent Shurr, Savannah, Ga., and Michael Shurr of Jacksonville, Fla.; and 14 grand- children. Andy moved to Baton Rouge in 1985, and will be remembered by most as a family systems counselor and all of the lives he touched through that ministry. He always said his most important goal in life was to make a positive difference. We believe he did. A celebration of Andy's life will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Unity Church of Christianity, 15255 Old Jefferson Highway. Visitation at the church on Tuesday is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to have donations made to Southern Care Hospice, 4324 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70816, for the loving care they provided at such a challenging time. ***************************************************************************
