PUMPKIN CENTER - Ora J. Simmerman, 73, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at her home. She was a native of Baptist. She was a retired from the Hammond State School, and a member of New Life Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Wallace Simmerman Sr.; three daughters, Mary Ann Taylor of Livingston, Debbie Hampton and Sue Daniels of Killian; two sons, Ed Stewart of Albany, and Kevin Stewart of Roxie, Miss.; two sisters, Elizabeth Owens of Baptist, and Helen Hoover Garon of Albany; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Bessie Owens; sister, Beatrice Owens; brothers, Smiley and Oscar Owens and Edward "Boss" Stewart. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Geisler Funeral Home, Albany. He was born June 7, 1928, in Como MS the son of the late Ethel Crenshaw and Katie Simmerman. He was one of 15 children. Mr. Simmerman was a 34-year member of the Masonic Grand Lodge # 466 in Albany, LA. He was also a member of Victory Baptist Church in Hammond, LA. His Sisters Cecilia Morris and Lillian Holt of Batesville, MS, survive him. His wife Lorraine Lytle Simmerman of 42 years and wife Ora Simmerman of 10 years; His Children Carol Riley, Wallace Simmerman, JR , Larry Simmerman and Richard Simmerman, precede Mr. Simmerman in death.
