She was a member of the Willing Workers Homemakers Club of Ponchatoula and was retired from Mercy Mid City (Lindy Boggs) Medical Center. She was a member of Broadmoor and Lakeview Golden Age Club, a member of the St. Bernadette Singles Ministry of Houma and a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Survivors include her son, David Skeins; two brothers, Homer and Eugene Bland; two sisters, Louella Bland of Ponchatoula and Pauline Dillie; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Skeins Sr.; a son, Dennis Skeins; her brother, Rogers Bland; her parents, Wallace and Georgia Woolie Bland; and one grandchild. A private burial was Wednesday. Lake Lawn Funeral Metairie Funeral Home was in charge. Donations may be made to Canon Hospice, 301 N. She was a native of Maben, Miss., and resident of Uneedus. She is survived her husband, Malcolm J. Skeins Jr. of Uneedus; a daughter, Rebecca Drury of Ponchatoula; three sons, Jay Morris, Canute Warren Jr. and Tobay Warren, all of Uneedus; her parents, Ralph and Jo Nickels Bigham of Maben; two sisters, Mary Jo Bailey of Eupora, Miss.; and Becky Morris of Cumbolian, Miss.; three brothers, Terry, Michael and Paul Bigham, all of Maben; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Her brother, Doyle Bigham, and her first husband, Canute Warren Sr., preceded her in death. Visitation will be at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m., and at Lee Valley Baptist Church, Uneedus, Friday from 9 a.m. until the Rev. Marvin Wilson conducts the funeral at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. ***************************************************************************
