Survivors include his wife, Winnie Wall Smiley of Houma; two sons, Bruce Levi Smiley of Bayou Blue, and Glynn Paul Smiley of Houma; three daughters, Vera Ann Smiley Alloway, Peggy Smiley Guidry of Houma, and Janet Smiley Burns of Gainesville, Ga.; two brothers, John Francis Smiley and Brady Elphege Smiley of Springfield; three sisters, Dorothy Smiley Long of Hammond, Winnie Smiley Duplechin of Kentwood, and Eva Smiley Wall of Springfield; and 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elphege Smiley and Mary Barnun Smiley; and two brothers, Luther William Smiley and Elzy Robar Smiley. Visitation will be Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., Highway 5899 Highway 311, Houma, from 5 to 10 p.m., and Wednesday from 8 until the funeral at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery.
