The fire and deaths were discovered by Kevin Smith when he returned home from work at the River Bend Nuclear Power Plant about 5 a.m. The house, at 38457 Sharp Lane, was smoldering. A sheriff's department spokesman said the deaths appeared to have been caused by smoke inhalation. The state Fire Marshall's Office is conducting an investigation.
