She was 67, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Hammond. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home on Thursday, July 22, from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by Apostle T.D. Collins, of Atlanta. Interment in Winnfield Memorial Park. She is survived by a son, Lanzie Francis Bergeron III; and a daughter-in-law, Monica L. Cheney-Bergeron. She was preceded in death by her father-Joseph Smith; mother, Julia Smith; and a brother, Harry Smith. She was a graduate of Capitol High School. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Grambling State University and her master's degree in educational counseling from Southern University.
