She was born Friday, April 2, 1937 in Dayton, Tennessee. Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Martin Solis; 3 sons, Anthony, Robert, and Richard Solis; 6 grandchildren, Michael, Danielle, Shelby, Breanne, Tyler, and Amber Solis; and her brother, James White. Friends will be received Friday, March 2, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 3, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. Services will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Saturday, March 3, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in the Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond. Kathryn enjoyed walking and playing golf everyday. She loved gardening and hearing her grandchildren's laughter. Her husband was her lifelong soulmate, and her sons were her joy. He was born on Saturday, May 16, 1964, in Aurora, IL. Son of Martin Solis and the late Kathryn Solis. Rick enjoyed making people laugh and making sure everyone was having a good time. Rick spent the majority of his life as a Master Tile Setter working in the Chicago area doing commerical and residential tile work. Some examples of RickÕs work include the flooring of the Knickerbocker Hotel and the Chicago Art Institute. Rick was a very accomplished Heavy Metal guitarist whose passion for shredding could never be contained. Rick also loved sports and making quarter bets with his Dad on all the football games. Although Rick was seperated from his children by distance they never left his heart. Surviving are father, Martin Solis, son, Tyler Solis, daughter, Amber Solis, brother & sister-in-law, Anthony and Jule Solis, brother & sister-in-law, Robert and Teris Solis, former spouse, Terri Gozdecki, neices Shelby, Breanne, and Danielle and nephew Michael. He is preceded in death by his mother Kathryn Solis. Friends will be received Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Hammond.
