SOMERS, JOEL RUFFNER, SR.
Joel Ruffner Somers, Sr. passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2009. Beloved
husband of Mary E. Somers. Father of the late Joel R. Somers, Jr. Brother
of the late James Franklin Somers, Jr. and Diana Marye Wright. Especially
beloved uncle of Charles Geisinger, Connie Geisinger, Joseph Riche, T. Ann
Riche, John Christopher Hardesty, Rebecca Riordan, Mark Geisinger, Ann
Metcalf and Ted LaMonica. Age 84 years. A native of Jacksonville, FL and a
resident of Ponchatoula, LA for the past 2 years. He was a WWII veteran
serving in the Army Air Corp. He attended Tulane University. A retired
manager for Prudential Insurance Co. Relatives and friends of the family
are invited to attend the funeral service from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home
Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Tuesday, August 18, 2009
at 11:00 AM. Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment in
Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
