SOWELL, ANITA BRECHEEN  

GREENSBURG - Anita Brecheen Sowell, 66, died Friday, June 14, 2002, at her home. 
She was a native of St. Helena Parish, a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana 
University and a retired correctional officer at Angola State Prison. She is 
survived by two daughters, Judy Sowell of Baton Rouge and Nita Kay S. Dover of 
Greensburg; two sisters, Joyce B. McGregor and Caroline B. Lynn, both of 
Greensburg; two brothers, Winston Brecheen of LaPorte, Texas, and Milton 
Brecheen of Hammond; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, 
Joseph C. "Joey" Sowell III; and her parents, Clifton D. and Opal Watson Brecheen. 
Visitation will be today at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 10 a.m. until the 
Rev. Casey Tingle conducts the funeral at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Kedron 
Cemetery, Amite.
