A retired employee of South Central Bell Telephone Co., he died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at his residence in Hammond. He was 67 and a native of New Orleans. Visiting at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Hammond, 9 a.m. Saturday until religious services at 10 a.m. Interment in Holly Gardens Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Bettie Foster Spano, Hammond; three sons, Frank J. Spano, Middletown, Conn., Dennis N. Spano, Denham Springs, and Douglas E. Spano, Hammond; two daughters, Wendy Spano Danna and Catherine Spano Fazende, both of Hammond; a sister, June Spano Cawvey, Hammond; three brothers, Dominick A. Spano, Hammond, John D. Spano, Austin, Texas, and David J. Spano, Hammond; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Frank F. and Rosa Belle Spano.
