Age 79, a native of Collins, MS. and a resident of Hammond, Billie passed away Friday, August 1, 2008 at the Richard Murphy Hospice House. In addition to being the owner of Spell Engineering of Baton Rouge for many years, he also retired from the Governoršs Office of Disaster Preparedness in the State of California with 12 years of service. Mr. Spell proudly served our country in the United States Marines during WWII. He is survived by his devoted daughters and son-in-law, Elaine and Joe Costa, Julie Bentivegna all of Hammond, loving son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Julie Spell of Pacific Palisades CA; adoring grandchildren, Matthew and Jamie Spell of California, Ryan Welsh, Sam and Ben Costa, Ashley Bentivegna all of Hammond. He was a native of Florence, Miss., a retired truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
