SPELL, BILLIE E.
Age 79, a native of Collins, MS. and a resident of Hammond, Billie passed
away Friday, August 1, 2008 at the Richard Murphy Hospice House.  In
addition to being the owner of Spell Engineering of Baton Rouge for many
years, he also retired from the Governoršs Office of Disaster Preparedness
in the State of California with 12 years of service. Mr. Spell proudly
served our country in the United States Marines during WWII.  He is
survived by his devoted daughters and son-in-law, Elaine and Joe Costa,
Julie Bentivegna all of Hammond, loving son and daughter-in-law, Dan and
Julie Spell of Pacific Palisades CA; adoring grandchildren, Matthew and
Jamie Spell of California, Ryan Welsh, Sam and Ben Costa, Ashley Bentivegna
all of Hammond.  At a later date, Mr. Spellšs cremains will be scattered
during a military service at sea.  Condolences and other information

SPELL, EARL 

Earl Spell, 89, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at his home. He was a native of 
Florence, Miss., a retired truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran of World War 
II. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Spell of Hammond; one daughter, Barbara 
Arnold of Hammond; and one son, Sandy Conley of Hammond. He was preceded in 
death by his parents, Henry and Alma Kitchen Spell, one brother, Erskine Spell; 
and two sisters, Effie Lee Johnson and Josephine McCullough. Visitation will be 
Friday at N.A. James Funeral Home, Hammond, from 3 to 7 p.m. The Rev. Jerry 
Hanible will conduct the funeral Saturday at 11 a.m. at Greenfield Missionary 
Baptist Church, Hammond. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Hazel Spell, 79, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at North Oaks Medical Center, 
Hammond. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara L. Arnold of Hammond; and 
one son, Sandy Pines of Hammond. Visitation will be today at N.A. James Funeral 
Home, Hammond, from 3 until 8 p.m. The Rev. Jerry Hanible will conduct the 
funeral Saturday at Greenfield Missionary Baptist, Hammond, at 11 a.m. Burial 
will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond.
