SPRADLING, SYTHA MAE
Sytha Mae Spradling, a resident of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully
Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at age 102. She was born on July 16, 1908, in 
Tilmon, Texas, to John and Mary White. She was preceded in death by her
parents; husband, Elmer R. Spradling; son, Leslie Spradling; son-in-law, 
Chester Johnson; two sisters and five brothers. Survivors include a son, 
Alton Taylor and his wife, Carey Taylor, of Austin; daughter, Janelle
Johnson, of Pflugerville, Texas; daughter, Betty Ann Fitzpatrick and her 
husband, Caswell Fitzpatrick, of Ponchatoula; 14 grandchildren and 
numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation at Cook-Walden 
Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar, Austin, on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 10 a.m.
until funeral services at 11 a.m. Graveside services will be held at 
Capital Park Cemetery in Pflugerville. Mark Gardner, of Ridgetop Baptist 
Church, will officiate. Pallbearers will be John Williams, Chris Cuny and 
Travis Spradling, of Baton Rouge, Danny Johnson, Caswell Fitzpatrick and
Randall Wells. The family would like to thank the personnel of Buckner 
Villa for the loving care provided by them through the years. Sytha was 
grateful for the many friends she came to know and love while there. In 
lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in remembrance of Sytha Spradling 
to Ridgetop Baptist Church, 708 E. 51st St., Austin, TX 78751.
