She peacefully passed away at her residence in Amite, LA. Betty was born August 24, 1929, in Starkville, MS to Claude Russell, Sr. and Carrie Elizabeth Russell. Betty loved to play the piano, read the bible and minister to others. Betty was a member of Cooper's Chapel United Methodist Church in Loranger, LA. Betty is survived by her two daughters, Rose Everett and husband, Bydie, and Becky Fry and husband, Ken; 3 grandsons, Tommy Coffey, Jr., Daniel Coffey and Bryan Fry; 1 granddaughter, Melanie Coffey; 6 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons; 2 half brothers, Bill Russell and Mike Russell; 1 half sister, Rachel Milstead. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Jack Russell and Claude "Buck" Russell, Jr., and twin sister, Barbara Jaggers. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday and from 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Services conducted by Bro. John Dreshner and Bro. Spiller Milton. Interment Lee Cemetery, Amite, LA.
