Survivors inlcude two daughters, Anita Augustus and Sonia Smith, both of Katy, Texas; three sons, Gregory Starwood of St. Paul, Minn., Vincent Brett Starwood of Lafayette and Therron Starwood of Orange, Texas; two sisters, Louise Johnson of New Orleans and Margie Rosario of Palm Bay, Fla.; two brothers, Joseph Butler of Amite and James H. Butler of Kenner. Visitation will be Thursday at Greenfield Missionary Baptist Church, Hammond, from 3 to 8 p.m. The Rev. Jerry Hanible will conduct the funeral Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Holly Gardens Cemetery, Hammond. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greenfield Missionary Baptist Church, Library Fund. N.A. James Funeral Home, Hammond, is in charge. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in the Hammond Daily Star on: 6/2/2011 STARWOOD, GERALDINE Geraldine Starwood of Hammond died May 27th in North Oaks Medical Center at the age of 71. She is survived by three daughters; June (Lonnie) Taylor and Sheila Pitts of Hammond and Anna Green of Baltimore, MD and two sisters; Temple Carter of Baton Rouge, LA and Juanita Starwood of Sunnyvale, CA, She also leaves brother Clifton Starwood, Aunt Mary Burton and eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mersell Pitts, one son, Warren Pitts, one brother Alfred Dawson and granddaughter Ashley Jones. Visitation will take place on Friday at Greenfield Baptist Church from 5 until 8 pm. Pastor Jerry Hanible will conduct funeral services at 11 am on Saturday, June 4th.
