A resident of Amite and a member of St. Helena Catholic Church, she died Monday, April 28, 2003, at the age of 97. She is survived by a son, George B. Statham, Hunt, Texas; a daughter, Mary Lou Williams, Spartanburg, S.C.; a sister, Mary Jackson, Amite; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. BOLIVAR - Charles M. Statham, 71, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at his residence. He was a retired tractor mechanic with Hood Tractor in Amite and a member of the Sunnyhill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Frances Creel Statham, Bolivar; his daughters, Margaret McIntyre and Gail Hartman, both of Bolivar; his son, Dale Statham, Bolivar; his sister, Dorothy Hodges, Bolivar; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be today at Crain Funeral Home, Franklinton, after 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Ray Schilling and the Rev. Otho Schilling will conduct the service. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Jerry Thompson and Bobbie and Jimmy Smith; a son and daughter-in-law, Malcolm and Catherine Statham; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, A.M. "Gus" Statham and Kenneth Statham; and a granddaughter, Susan Statham. Louisville, Mississippi Kenneth Wayne Statham Sr., 71, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at home. Services are 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home of Louisville is handling arrangements. Mr. Statham was the retired owner of the Western Auto Store in Louisville. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was a graduate of Mississippi College with a degree in History. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and on numerous committees. He was a former president of the Louisville Chamber of Commerce, and a former member of the Louisville Lions Club and the Louisville Businessmen's Club. He was a director of the Louisville Utilities Board and a founding member of the Winston Medical Center Foundation. He also served as a Gideon. He was a devoted family man and is survived by: his wife, Allyne S. Statham; his mother, Edna S. Statham of Baton Rouge, La.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Beth and Eric Davis of Dothan, Ala., and Gay and Happy Fox of Asheville, N.C.; one son and daughter- in-law, Kenny and Mary Lynn Statham of Jackson; two sisters, Betty Thompson of Mobile, Ala., and Bobbie Smith of Baton Rouge, Ala.; one brother, A.M. Mrs. Olga Bennett Statham, wife of Aurelius Statham of the Wilmer Community was claimed by death at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.J. Chambers east of town. Funeral services are being held today at the late residence at Wilmer, followed by interment in the family cemetery there. Mrs. Statham, 58 years old, was the daughter of the late Hardy and Georgia Vernon Bennett. She had lived her entire life in Tangipahoa Parish. She is survived by her husband and the following five sons and three daughters, Mrs. Joe Chambers, Mrs. Ed Cory and Mrs. Dwight Parker all of whom live east of Amite. Augustus Statham of Amite, Mrs. Leo Edwards, Mrs. Hugh Bracy, Tom and Jack Statham, all of Wilmer; also by one brother Buren Bennett of Amite, two half brothers, Charles Bennett of Wilmer and Desire Bennett of Amite and one half sister, Mrs. Milton Morris of Hillsdale. ********************************************************************************
