F. WILLIAM 17 Oct 1930; p. 1, col. 3: C. F. William (Bill) Steidtmann, 50, was killed by a train Thursday, Oct 11., in Ponchatoula. Born in New Orleans, 28 May 1880. Funeral Friday in Ponchatoula; interment in Ponchatoula Cemetery. This was the 3rd tragic death in this family this year. In February, Albee Hoffman, son-in-law of Mr. Steidtmann; log accident. In August, Eustace Steidtmann, his nephew, died in Honduras. Survived by wife, the daughter of the late Millard F. Tucker; two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Hoffman and little Ruth Steidtmann; one brother, L. A. Steidtmann, 31, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Steidtmann, of Ponchatoula, died in LaCeiba, Honduras, Sunday, August 19th of blood poisoning. He was born and raised in Ponchatoula; married in 1928 Miss Dorothy Thibodeaux of Thibodaux. Survived by parents, wife and son; [brothers?], Edward Steidtmann of New Orleans and Herbert Steidtmann of Hammond. Services were held in LaCeiba, Monday.
