She is survived by two small children, Edward, 13 and Winnie Lee, 9. He was 94, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Tickfaw. Visiting at Hall's Celebration Center on Saturday, April 24, from 10 a.m. until religious service at noon, conducted by Melvin Rushing, pastor. Interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by his devoted friend of 28 years, Betty Sparks, her son, James Sparks, and daughter, Lois Sparks, whom he loved as his own. Also survived by a stepson, Sonny; godchild, Curt Cleveland White; aunts, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. Preceded in death by his mother and father, Liam Steward and Hattie H.; wife, Martha Steward; and sisters, Gladys Ricks and Josephine and Janie Steward.
