JOHN, JESSE WEYMAN DESTREHAN - Jesse Weyman St. John, 77, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at St. Charles Parish Hospital, Luling. A native of New Orleans, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and received a Purple Heart for outstanding heroism in action. He was a retired stevidor. He is survived by one daughter, Barbara F. Lacura of Ponchatoula; one son, Anthony Ferrante of St. Bernard Parish; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Rosa St. John; two sons, Jesse R. St. John and Jimmy Ferrante; two brothers, James "Jimmy" and William St. John; one sister, Frances S. Maneh; and his parents Jesse B. and Ruby Crocker St. John. The funeral was Saturday, and burial was in Rose Memorial Cemetery. JOHN, SARAH ROSA DESTREHAN - Sarah Rosa St. John, 79, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at her home. She was a native of Hammond. She is survived by her husband, Jesse W. St. John of Destrehan; one daughter, Barbara F. Lacura of Ponchatoula; one son, Anthony Ferrante of St. Bernard Parish; two sisters, Theresa R. Thibodeaux of Ponchatoula and Mary Lee R. Bernard of Golden Meadow; five grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Ferrant and Jesse R. St. John; four brothers, Vito, Joe, Mike and Sam Rosa; two sisters, Vita Manigo and Lena Robertson. Visitation will be today at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until Wallace Gainey conducts the funeral at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Rose Memorial Cemetery. ***************************************************************************
