"COACH" Whether the South shall rise again is hopeful and worthy of debate, but the recent ascension of Parnell Stockstill's spirit is indisputable. Born July 23, 1944, he died unexpectedly July 12, 2012 at home in Houston. Parnell graduated from Neville High School, Northeast College in Monroe, LA, and the Paul Hebert LSU Law Center in Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by his mother, Irma Stockstill Tuttle; father, Parnell A. Stockstill; and great nephew, Michael Haight of Ponchatula. Survived by sisters, Lanell Stockstill, and Beverly Stockstill McGehee and husband Edward; niece Leah Haight, niece Lindsay Jo Akers, nephew Stephen Didier, great nephew Christian Haight, all of Baton Rouge, and his beloved dog, "Six." Parnell practiced law, mostly oil & gas, in Louisiana and Texas for many years. A Kappa Alpha who grew the "Best Beard" for the Old South Ball, he could say more in two words than most people could in 30. He attended Willie Nelson's picnics and power lunches at The Cotton Club, the City Club and all clubs. His kindness and generosity were outshone only by his love of beautiful women and junk-yard dogs (he had more tolerance for the latter). Farewell, Parnell. You were the best. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Friends For Life, a no-kill shelter, P. O. Box 70575, Houston, TX 77270. ******************************************************************************** File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/tangipahoa/obits/obitssur/stockstill.txt
