He was 83. His final days were spent at home, surrounded by loving family and friends whom he touched in so many ways throughout his life. He was a native of Grenada, Miss., and a long-time resident of Sorrento. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Betty Anthony Stone, of Sorrento; daughters, Mildred "Mimi" Landry and husband Corey, of Pierre Part, and Martha Jean Babin and husband Keith, of Maurepas; son, Charlie Stone and wife Keri, of Sorrento; 11 grand- children, five stepgrandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; brother, Jessie Stone, of Calhoun County, Miss.; three sisters, June Davidson and Hazel Hoover, both of Vicksburg, Miss., and Myrtle Lucy Snyder, of Natchez, Miss.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Gladys Jenkins Stone; daughter, Margarette Stone; son, Clifton "Pete" Stone; grandson, Albert LeBlanc; brother, Cecil Stone; and sisters, Thelma Fife, Laura Jean Foley, and Gladys Stone. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Wednesday, Aug. 3, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday, Aug. 4, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Sorrento from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at 12:30 p.m. in Antioch Cemetery, 50113 Antioch Road, Tickfaw. Pallbearers will be Charlie Stone, Brett Stone, Cheyane Stone, Derrick Aucoin, Drake Balfantz and Alex Foreman. Honorary pallbearers are Corey Landry, Keith Babin and Kelly LeBlanc. The Rev. Joe E. Stone, longtime pastor of First Apostolic Tabernacle in Ponchatoula, died on January 22 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was 57-year-old; a native of Jonesville, resident of Ponchatoula; and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Stonem Stone; three sons and daughters-in-law, Joe Louis and Theresa Stone, Chad Edward and Samantha Stone, and Michael Thomas and Ashley Stone; two daughters and sons-in-law, Delores Dawn and John Menona and Kimberly Ann and Kenneth Fetters, all of Ponchatoula. He is also survived by grandchildren, Heather, Joe, Brooke, Kenny, Krysten, Kayla, Kacy, Jordanne, Brett, Sabrina and one expected grandchild. Surviving brothers are James, Coon and Boyce Dale. Surviving sisters are Billie, Ann and Becky. The Rev. Stone was preceded in death by his parents, James T. and "Fronnie" Jones Stone.
