STROECKER, ETHEL JONES

A resident and native of Ponchatoula, she died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at 
Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was 86. Visitation was at Harry McKneely & 
Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation 
in the funeral home chapel from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10:30 a.m. 
Thursday. Interment in Wetmore Cemetery. Survived by a son, Don Stroecker, 
Ponchatoula; a daughter, Elizabeth Charles, Madisonville; four grandchildren 
and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ed "Bumpy" Jones, Ponchatoula, 
and Jake Jones, Hammond; and three sisters, Annie Ferrant, Ponchatoula, Pat 
Parrish, Hammond, and Lena Benoit, Harahan. Preceded in death by her husband, 
James E. Stroecker; a great-granddaughter; four brothers, Castle, Sidney, J.C. 
and J.D. Jones; and two sisters, Irene Barnes and Edna Hebert.
