ROMAIN, AGNES She died at noon on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory, Miss. She was a native of New Roads, a resident of Amory, and a former resident of Independence. She was 92. Visitation was at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday. Visiting at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Religious service at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Independence, at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Paul McDuffie. Interment in Stevens Cemetery, Independence. She is survived by grandson, Alvin St. Romain, Natalbany; granddaughter, Melissa Sierra, Amory; great-granddaughter, Amelia Sierra, Amory; and half-brother, Lester Saizan, New Roads. She raised 22 foster children.
