STUKES, BERTHA OLIVIA WARE HERRING
Bertha Olivia Ware Herring Stukes, 85 years old of Hammond, Louisiana, 
passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013, at North Oaks Medical Center. She was 
born on Thursday, February 17, 1927, in Satsuma, LA. Bertha loved bingo, 
cooking, and laughing with family. She is survived by 5 children, Jimmy 
Herring (Judy), Brenda Richardson (Ike), Frances Fletcher (Richard), Denise 
Brann, Shirley "Cookie" Burns (Larry); 12 grandchildren, Carl Isaac 
Richardson, Karen Wall, Brenda Parent, Chet Herring, Deanie Ables, Ryan 
Herring, Chris Fletcher, Lisa Rhodus, Richard Fletcher Jr., Jared Brann, 
Alyson Brann, Callie Burns; 20 great grandchildren, Ike D. Richardson, 
Billy Richardson, Holly Bethel, Matthew Wall, Don Wall, Cassidy Woods, 
Connor Parent, Autumn Herring, Sawyer Herring, Ashford Bertolino, Ashley 
Fletcher, Cassie Parker, Tiffany Courtney, Timothy Rhodus, Kristin Young, 
Caroline Ables, Kristen Fletcher, Chris Herring, Brandon Herring, Britney 
Herring; 8 great-great grandchildren, Mackenzie Richardson, Mallorie 
Richardson, Maggie Richardson, Macksim Richardson, Skylar Bethel, Talan 
Bethel, Hope Wall, JJ Courtney. She is preceded in death by her husband, 
Quentin Stukes; first husband, Hollis Herring; brother, Troy Ware; sister, 
Shirley Stafford and half sister, Bessie Munn. Son-in-law, Duncan Brann. 
Friends will be received Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 
9:00 pm and on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until services at 
Harry McKneely & Son in Hammond. Services will begin at 11:00 am in the 
funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the St. James Cemetery in

STUKES, QUENTIN SIRENO  

SPRINGFIELD - Quentin Sireno Stukes, 73, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at 
Belle Maison Nursing Home, Hammond. He was a native of Port Isabelle, Tx. 
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Ware Stukes, Springfield; his daughters, 
Brenda Richardson, Springfield, Frances Flether, Killian, Shirley "Cookie" 
Burg, Pumpkin Center, and Denise Brann, Hammond; one son, Jimmy Herring, 
Springfield; one sister, Faith Stukes, Springfield; and numerous 
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three 
brothers and four sisters. There will be a graveside memorial service 
Monday at 11 a.m. at the Springfield Cemetery.
