SWAIM, HARRY EDWARD, SR.
Harry Edward Swaim Sr., 74, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., passed away Monday, May
26, 2008, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. Swaim served as staff
sergeant of the 82nd Airborne in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1954. He was a
state director of Communicator Workers of America for east, west and middle
Tennessee, Alabama and Louisiana from 1975 to 1999. He served on the staff
at AT&T from 1954 to 1975. Mr. Swaim was a Mason, an avid gardener, loved
pets, traveled extensively and a member of First Baptist Church,
Murfreesboro. Mr. Swaim was preceded in death by his parents, Don Cevier
and Margaret Swaim. Survived by his wife, Jeanette Swaim, who was of
Murfreesboro; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Eddie and Anne Swaim,
of Murfreesboro, Michael and Wanda Swaim, of Shelbyville, Jay Eric and
Holly Swaim, of Murfreesboro, and Victor Snipes Swaim, of Hammond; 11
grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and mother-in-law, Edna Snipes, of
Murfreesboro. Visitation with the family at Murfreesboro Funeral Home, 145
Innsbrooke Blvd., Murfreesboro, on Wednesday, May 28, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Funeral service on Thursday, May 29, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with
the Rev. Randall Harmon, the Rev. Dave Balder and Dr. Mike Smith
officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Those wishing may send
