She passed away peacefully on April 13, 2012 at Northoaks Memorial Hospital in Hammond. She was 86, born on August 20, 1925 in Clinton, La. She is survived by her son, Robert "Bob" Eugene Swearingen, of Springfield, La and wife Tammy; daughter-in-law, Joyce Pimentel Swearingen of Baker, La; eight grandchildren, Beth, Shannon, Missy, Shawna, Brenda, John, Summer, and Crystal; ten great-grandchildren, Stacy Wayne, Brook, April, Bobby, Johnny, Sean, Sammy, Perry, Ethan, and Kylin. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Robert Swearingen; and son, Johnny Wayne Swearingen. He was born November 19, 1937 in Greenlaw, LA and was 74 years of age. Pete was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church since October 26, 1952. He retired a successful dairy farmer from 1959 to 2002. He was in the armed forces from 1956 to 1959. He loved fishing and had a heart of gold. He loved his children and grandchildren very much. The greatest Dad ever!
