SWEATMAN, WALTER LEE 

ALBANY - Walter Lee Sweatman, 76, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at his home. He 
was a member of Bloodriver Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Billie Jane 
Sweatman of Albany; two daughters, Rebecca Marie Sweatman of Albany and Tammye 
Sweatman Gill of River Ridge; three sons, Ernest Dean Sweatman of Tennessee, 
Frankie Lee Sweatman of Oklahoma and Terry Van Sweatman of Harahan; one brother, 
Bill Sweatman; one sister, Ina Cross; four grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Rachel 
Sweatman Sr.; one sister, Margaret Hampton; and two brothers, Ernest Sweatman Jr. 
and Tom Sweatman. The Rev. Victor Roudaovski conducted the funeral Saturday at 
Bloodriver Baptist Church, and burial was in the church cemetery. Geisler Funeral 
Home, Albany, was in charge.
