Jimmy was born January 31, 1929 in Whitesburg, Kentucky, and passed away at his home on October 30, 2011 in Hammond, Louisiana. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Kathie Robinson Tackett; daughter, Carolyn Tackett; stepdaughter, Beth Wolfe and husband David; two grandchildren, Rebecca Murry and Raymond Murry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Dora Tackett; three sisters; one brother; and a son, Bart Tackett.
