TALIA, CARMELLA FONTANA
New Orleans - Carmella Fontana Talia, beloved wife of the late John
"Johnny" Talia, departed this life and joined her husband on May 10, 2006.
She was 80.  Carmella, a native of Independence, La., lived in New Orleans
for the past 60 years.  She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Talia, her
sisters Vita Tomm, Josie Orth, Anne Bertucci, Rosalie Ricks and Augustine
Taylor; her brothers, Nat Fontana and Jake Fontana; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Jake Fontana.  Relatives and friends
are invited to attend a memorial Mass at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 601 N.
Oak Street, Hammond, La., on Friday, June 30, 2006, at 10 a.m. Visitation
will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.  In lieu of
flowers, please make donations to the Father Seelos Center, 2030 Constance
Street, New Orleans, LA 70130.

9 Feb 1934; p. 1, col. 3:  John Talia, 58, of Natalbany, died
Saturday.  Funeral Sunday; interment in Italian section of
Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond.  Survived by two sons, Frank Talia
of New Orleans and Phillip Talia of Hammond.
