TANNER, CARRIE SHIRLEY

A resident of Ponchatoula, she died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, at North Oaks 
Medical Center, Hammond. She was 82 and a native of Dry Prong. Visitation 
at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. 
Sunday. Visiting at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until religious services 
in the funeral home chapel at noon Monday. Interment in Grantham Cemetery, 
Bush. Survived by three daughters, Glenda Turnage and Sandra Tanner, both 
of Ponchatoula, and Pam Roberts, Baton Rouge; six sons, Houston Tanner, 
Elgin, Ill., Charles Tanner, West Warwick, R.I., Larry Tanner and Bojack 
Tanner, both of Ponchatoula, Terry Tanner, Bloomington, Ill., and Pete 
Tanner, Ponchatoula; two sisters, Lucy and Yvonne Hayes, both of 
Alexandria; two brothers, Jessie and Huey Shirley, Dry Prong; 30 grand-
children; and 32 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, 
Mike Tanner; a daughter, Gail Tanner; a grandson, David Tanner; parents, 
George and Elizabeth Orr Shirley; and a brother, Charlie Shirley.

TANNER, GWENDOLYN BUTLER  

INDEPENDENCE - Gwendolyn Butler Tanner, 44, died Friday, July 13, 2001, at 
North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. She was a native and resident of 
Independence. Survivors include two sons, Syon and Shawn Tanner; a daughter, 
Shira Tanner; a sister, Cassandra Butler; and her mother, Eloise Steptoe, 
all of Independence. Her father, Louis Butler, and her grandparents, 
Lubertha and John Garman and Gladys Butler, preceded her in death. 
Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until the funeral, conducted by the 
Rev. Thelma Thomas, at 1 p.m. at Martin Chapel AME Church, Independence. 
Burial will be in Leonard's Chapel Cemetery. Richardson Funeral Home, Amite, 
is in charge.

TANNER, PAULINE
Kentwood -- Pauline Tanner, 87, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at Hood
Memorial Hospital, Amite.  Survivors include one daughter, Geneva Cook of
Honolulu; and two sons, John Tanner and Jesse Cook, both of Kentwood.
The Rev. Joshua Brown conducted the funeral today at 11 a.m. at Temple
Chapel Baptist Church, Kentwood.  Burial was at Hope Cemetery, Kentwood.
N.A. James Funeral Home, Hammond, was in charge.

TANNER, ROSA LEE JONES  

Rosa Lee Jones Tanner, 71, died Saturday, June 2, 2001, at Belle Maison 
Nursing Home. She was a native of Magnolia, Miss. She is survived by two 
sisters, Lula Freeman of Hammond and Beulah Self of Miami; two brothers, 
T.L. Jones of Hammond and Leon Jones of New Orleans. Visitation will be 
today from 4 to 9 p.m. at N.A. James Funeral Home, Hammond. The Rev. 
David Henderson will conduct the funeral Tuesday at 11 a.m., and burial 
will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond.
