She was 98, a native of Amite and a longtime resident of Independence. Visitation was at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Religious service was at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Independence, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Paul McDuffie. Entombment in Colonial Mausoleum, Independence. She is survived by three daughters, Josephine Marsala, Chicago, and Carmela Marciano and Rosemary Macaluso, both of Independence; son, Peter Taromina, Metairie; four sisters, Margaret Puloma, Hammond, Lena Bourgeois, Georgia, Mary Callia, Metairie, and Virginia Carreca, Harahan; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Taromina; parents, Andrew Masilio and Carmela Giambrone Masilio; and two brothers, Joe Masilio and Charlie Mondebello. ********************************************************************************
