She was a native of Livingston Parish, a retired Livingston Parish school bus driver, strawberry farmer, business owner, devoted mother and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She leaves behind her son, E.L. Thornhill IV and wife Christine of Hammond; brother, Edward Kinchen of Albany; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Lonie was preceded in death by her parents, Edward "Ed" Kinchen and Mary Stewart Kinchen; sister, Idell Stewart; five brothers, Authur, Elzey, Oscar Sr., Coy and Norman Kinchen. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Friday, February 18, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service time. The services will be conducted by Rev. Don Thursby and interment will follow in Kinchen Cemetery in Holden. Memorial donations may be made to St. JudeŐs ChildrenŐs Research Center. Survivors are her husband of 59 years, Wesley Thornhill of Hammond, Louisiana; her son Ricky Thornhill and wife Denise, of Duson, Louisiana; her daughter Terry Tompkins and husband David, of Hammond, Louisiana; her 3 sisters, Linda Harris of Marrero, Louisiana; Dimple Hughes of Brooksville, Florida; Debby Cox of Lake Charles, Louisiana; her 2 brothers Nolan Wallace of Summit, Mississippi and Stewart Wallace of Natchez, Mississippi; her grandchildren Trent Tompkins and wife Brittany of Hammond, Louisiana; and Chance and Amanda Thornhill of Lafayette, Louisiana; and 7 great grandchildren.
