Karen was the beloved mother of Linda R. Thrasher-Rocker. Grandmother of Guy Henry. Mother-in-law of Henry A. "Rocky" Rocker, Jr. Daughter of the late Evelyn and Bearnt Movick. Sister of Marilyn & Janice. Karen was affectingly known as "Moo Moo" to Linda and her friends and she was always there to offer a hug and support to all who needed it. A native of Linn Grove, Iowa, a farm girl, she ventured down south in 1967, where she fell in love with and married Guy, who was a native of New Orleans and a sailor. Karen was a Registered Nurse for 40 years, a Girl Scout leader and camp nurse in the 70's and 80's. She was actively involved at Saint Paul Lutheran Church. She was of Norwegian and Swedish decent and continued to uphold many of her family's traditions. Her Norwegian Lefse will be missed, as well as her beautiful smile and fun out look on life. Karen was a "WHO DAT" and always kept the faith! She is at peace now with our Savior, and it is in knowing that, which gives those who mourn her peace as well. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service, followed by fellowship at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 707 West Dakota Street, Hammond, LA 70401 on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 2:00 pm.
