A lifelong resident of Albany, Amos was a self-employed electrician in the Albany area for over 50 years. At age 87, he passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at his home. Amos was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, prior member of the American Legion of Springfield and served during World War II in the Coast Guard. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Threeton of Springfield; five daughters, Linda McMorris of Springfield, Diane Cormier of Rayne, Patricia Bailey of Texas, Lucille Williams of Gonzales and Peggy Pigott of Amite; four sons, Claude Taylor of Slidell, Billy Taylor of Angie, Sherwood Taylor of Hammond and Thomas Taylor of Holden; two sisters, Rosie Sharp of Picayune, Miss., and Florence Cook of New Orleans; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Sidney Taylor; her parents, Lester and Jeannette Heck Cook; and two brothers, Lester and James Cook. Visitation will be Saturday at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. until the Rev. "BILL" Mr. W.W. "Bill" Threeton, 93, of Springfield died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at North Oaks Medical Center. He was born Wednesday, March 25, 1914, in Springfield, son of the late Alonzo and Frances Rankin Threeton. Mr. Threeton was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He worked as a farmer all of his life, having raised both strawberries and cattle. He also was a retired custodian from the Springfield school system. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred Leonard and Ruth Threeton, and Lloyd and Doris Threeton; five grandchildren, Carrie Threeton Foster, Lenny, Billy, Russell and Perry Threeton; 14 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Elizabeth Arceneaux. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Louise Goodwin Todd Threeton; and son, Willie "Skipper" Threeton Jr.; five brothers, Julius, Lonnie, Sonny, Milton and Emmett; and three sisters, Dale, Alice and Anna Lou. Friends will be received Wednesday, April 11, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Thursday, April 12, from 8 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Billie Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in the Springfield Cemetery.
