Stephens of Shreveport. ************************************************************************* Obituary published in The Hammond Vindicator: 3/11/1949 TOLLE, ALICE VILLERE CHOPPIN Mrs. Alice Choppin Tolle died last Thursday of a heart attack. She was the wife of William G. Tolle of Hammond, formerly of St. Louis, Mo. Services were held Saturday; interment was in Greenlawn cemetery. She was born July 18, 1888, the daughter of the late Alice Daigre and Beauregard J. Villere of New Orleans. Her grandfather, the late Pierre Villere, served for one term as governor of Louisiana. In 1922, after the death of her first husband, Samuel Paul Choppin, in Covington, she moved her family to Hammond where they have since resided. She operated a millinery shop and beauty salon. She was the first person to open a beauty shop between New Orleans and Jackson, Miss. She is survived by her husband, William G. Tolle; one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Choppin Pantall; one son, Dr. Henry Choppin, both of Hammond; two brothers, Oswald Villere of Fort Pike and Beauregard Villere of Hammond; one granddaughter, Alice Cheryl Pantall of Hammond. ************************************************************************* Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) on: 11/17/2000 TOLLE, HUBERT E. A retired laboratory technician for the Louisiana Office of Highways and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He was 76 and a native of Hammond. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until graveside services at 3 p.m. Friday, conducted by Roy Henson. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by his cat, Muffin; a sister, Helen T. Jones, Gulfport, Miss.; two brothers, Richard H. Tolle, Baton Rouge, and Charles I. Tolle, Ethel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bettie Tolle; and three brothers, Fred L. Tolle Jr., Albert E. Tolle Sr. and Wilber O. Tolle. Pallbearers will be Michael O. Tolle, Cecil R.
