Archie C. Tompkins, age 77, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at his residence. He was born in New Orleans, LA and a resident of Ponchatoula. He served in the U.S. Army. He leaves behind his loving wife of 39 years, Melva Tompkins; children, Nelda Rolling, Calvin Tompkins, Susan Kreamer, Darren Tompkins, Randy Ezell, Timothy Ezell, Rena Weaver and Mesha Puderer; eighteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters, Lucy Rodrigue and Barbara Wortmann and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Archie in death were his parents, Archie L. and Thelma Tompkins, son, Archie C. Tompkins, Jr. and brothers, Jerry Tompkins and Roy Tompkins. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 1190 Hwy 51 N, Ponchatoula LA 70454 on Monday, October 3, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with religious services at 6:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Restlawn Park Cemetery in Avondale, LA.
