Annie Lillie Toney departed from this life at 5:12 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2002. She was born May 27, 1931. She was a retired Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture clerk and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She leaves to mourn her loving husband, Harlon A. Toney; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Alan Chadwick; a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Deborah Toney; four grandchildren, Kristin Toney, Erin Toney, Seth Chadwick and Adam Chadwick; five sisters and a brother-in-law, Sallie Phillips, St. Gabriel, Vernie Varden, Baton Rouge, Hattie Ognibene, Baton Rouge, Lettie Dillon, Kentwood, and Missy and Mason Simmons, Osyka, Miss.; a brother and sister-in-law, Aubrey and Audrey Lillie, Baton Rouge; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Troy (Audrey) Lillie, Baton Rouge, and Mrs. L.H. (Wanda) Lillie, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lem Howard and Corine Woodard Lillie; three brothers, Troy, Pierce and L.H. Lillie Jr.; and a granddaughter, Ashley Chadwick. Visitation was at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. Visitation at New Zion Baptist Church, Kentwood, from 12:30 p.m. until religious service at 2 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Ted Phillips, the Rev. T.T. Ozbun, the Rev. Jason Foster and the Rev. Luther Stanford. Interment in church cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews. She was an active member of the New Zion Baptist Church and served faithfully on the New Zion cemetery committee. She was born in Tangipahoa Parish on Jan. 10, 1918. Survivors include her children, Vaunice T. Tate and Billy P. Toney; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Adnell Toney; son-in-law, James C. Tate; and parents, Lela Willie Bailey and Pierce Bailey. She worked 25 years at St. Tammany Parish Hospital and retired in 1986 as a nurse's aide.
