He was 67 and a native of New Orleans. He was a U.S. Marine Corps. veteran. Body was donated to LSU School of Medicine. Memorial service at Bethel Baptist Church, Kentwood, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, conducted by the Rev. Isreal Shaw and the Rev. Darryl Crain. Survived by his wife, Gwyndolyn Alford Topham; stepmother, Lorraine Topham; three daughters, Cynthia Breland and husband Kevin, Belle Chase, Eline Naquin, Gonzales, and Darlene Topham, Marrero; a son, Dwight Topham Jr. and friend Pam McAllister, Prairieville; a stepson, Gary Alford, Baton Rouge; four sisters, Irma Crain and husband, W.J., San Antonio, Doris Read, Ponchatoula, Martha Jackson, Brusly, and Barbara Piano; a brother, Gerald Topham, Mount Vernon, Wash.; an aunt, Rosa Mae Alberes; mother-in-law, Eline "Tippy" Ballow; and four grandchildren, Amanda Craven, Paul Naquin III, Kevin Breland Jr. and Zachary Breland. Preceded in death his first wife, Susie Topham; father, Dwight Topham; mother, Rosemary Piano; and a brother, Joe Piano. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, Kentwood, or Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge. ************************************************************************* Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) on: 5/15/2011 TOPHAM, LORRAINE ALBARADO She was 81, born Jan. 15, 1930, in Paincourtville, and passed away at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice at 7:30 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2011. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen, on Monday, May 16, from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Brusly at noon, with the Rev. Matt Dupre, celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery. Survived by a sister, Rosa Hebert and husband Ronnie Alveres, Brusly; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Irma and W.J. Crain, San Antonio, Doris Read, Ponchatoula, and Martha and Elliot "Red" Daigle, of Brusly; a son, Gerald Topham, of Washington state; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Topham; son, Dwight Melvin Topham; parents, Joseph and Doris Himel Albarado; daughter-in-law, Susie Topham; and son-in-law, Rudolph Jackson. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Lions Club and the Iberville Parish Quilters Guild.
