HELENA PARISH - Mildred Jackson Topps, 78, died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at St. Helena Parish Hospital. She was a native of St. Helena Parish and a retired teacher of the St. Helena Parish school system. She is survived by three daughters, Betty Addison of Greensburg, Linda Bailey of New Orleans and Mary Turner-Jackson of Detroit; one sister, Beatrice J. Forbes; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ruth Jackson; her husband, Joe Topps; six sisters, Johnnie Bea, Rutha, Earlean, Pearlen, Cora and Susie; and one brother, T.C. Jackson. Visitation will be Friday at Rocky Hill AME Church, Greensburg, from 6 to 9 p.m. The Rev. R. Hall will conduct the funeral Saturday at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
