She was 87, a resident of Ethel and a native of Kentwood. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sunday, Dec. 30, was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home chapel on Monday, Dec. 31, from 10 a.m. until religious service at noon, conducted by the Rev. Mike Townsend and the Rev. Jonathan Samuels. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survivors include her brother, Earl Ravencraft Sr. and wife Gladys, of Wilson; sister-in-law, Louise Ravencraft, of Liberty, Miss.; five nieces, Betty Ravencraft Stott and husband Joe, Cynthia Ravencraft Armstrong, Patricia Partin, Kathleen Goings and Ouida McLaughlin; three nephews, Sam Sabella and wife Peggy, Earl Ravencraft Jr. and Robert Ravencraft; and friends, Elsie Merritt and Mac Browning. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Torrence; parents, Allie and Lena Duck Ravencraft; two brothers, Allen P. and Woodie A. Ravencraft; sister, Weader Sabella; and two nephews, Woodie "Skipper" Ravencraft Jr. and Allen "Bubba" Ravencraft Jr. Pallbearers will be Joe Stott, Earl Ravencraft Jr., Sam Sabella, Todd Sabella, Robert Ravencraft and Walter Bradley. Special thanks to Dr. Michael Dejohn, Dr. Douglas Say, Dr. Guido DeJesus, and her sitters, Alice McClendon and Rebecca Sims. Mark E. Torrance, 47, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001. He was a native of Baton Rouge and a businessman. He is survived by two children, Madison M. Torrance and Dylan J. Torrance; his parents, John and Loretta Torrance of Baton Rouge; one sister, Cynthia Rabalais of Slidell; and two brothers, Anthony Torrance of Slidell, and Curt Torrance of Baton Rouge. Visitation will be Friday at at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, 2121 N. Sherwood Forest, Baton Rouge, from 8 a.m. until the Mass of Christian burial at 10. A Rosary will be held at 9. The Rev. Maynard Hurst will conduct the service, and burial will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family request monument contributions be made to the St. Louis King of France Catholic Church building fund.
