RIVER RIDGE - Albert J. Toups, 88, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at East Jefferson Hospital in Metairie. A native of Raceland who resided in River Ridge, he had worked as a salesman and was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include four sons, Robert A Toups of Luling, Lanny P. Toups of River Ridge, David Joseph Toups of Meraux and Albert J. Toups Jr. of Amite; a daughter, Mary Ann T. Dauterive of Amite; a sister, Mae Baudoin of Lockport; a brother, Benson Toups of Raceland; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. His wife was the late Amy Toups. A son, Dale Toups, and a sister, Jeanne Scott, also preceded him in death. Visitation will be at St. Helena Catholic Church, Amite, Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the funeral at 11 a.m. The Rev. Jack Nutter will conduct the service with burial in Amite Memorial Gardens in Amite. She was 78 and a native of Raceland. Visiting at St. Helena Catholic Church, Amite, 9 a.m. Saturday until religious services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jack Nutter. Interment in Amite Memorial Gardens. Survived by husband, Albert Joseph Toups Sr., Amite; four sons, Robert A. Toups, Jefferson, Lanny P. Toups, River Ridge, David Joseph Toups, Meraux, and Albert Joseph Toups Jr., Amite; a daughter, Mary Ann T. Dauterive, Amite; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Georgine Norman, Slidell. Preceded in death by a son, Dale Toups; two sisters and four brothers.
