Maj. George William Troha (U.S. Army, retired), the husband of Earline Ratcliff Miller George, a resident of Livingston and native of the state of Georgia, went to be with our Lord on Friday, June 3, 2011, at the age of 88. He was born Dec. 14, 1922, to Frank Troha Sr. and Flora Hansel Sharpe. He graduated from Bradwell High School in Hinesville, Ga., and joined the U.S. Army at the age of 17. George served his country for 32 years around the world serving in World War II, the Korean War and two tours in Vietnam. He was a loving, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He met and married Anne Lafferty (deceased), who was from Cookstown, Northern Ireland, with whom he had three daughters. In 1989, he married Earline R. Miller, in which he gained three more daughters and a son. Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home, Livingston, on Monday, June 6, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at Pine Grove Baptist Church, Bayou Barbary, on Tuesday, June 7, from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Paul Taylor. VFW Post 1017, Denham Springs, will render military honors. Interment will be in Allenhurst Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Allenhurst, Ga., with full military honors. He is survived by his wife, Earline R. Miller; three daughters, Helen Troha, of Stone Mountain, Ga., Barbara Troha and her husband, Richard Skelton, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Joanne Troha and her husband, Philip Richardson, of North Port, Fla.; six grandsons, Rick and his wife, Michelle Skelton, of Bristow, Va., Robert Skelton and his fiancˇe, Kellee Larison, and Jeremy Skelton, of Albuquerque, and Philip, Daniel and Sean Richardson, of North Port; two great- grandchildren, Theodore and Ellianna Skelton, of Bristow; sister and her husband, Joan and Bill Sandmier, of Allenhurst; four brothers, Herman and his wife, Mary, of Dothan, Ala., John Ed, Lawrence, Robert and his wife, Jeweline, all of Allenhurst; four sisters-in-law, Jan, Dot, Aline and Phyllis Troha; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his stepdaughters, Marva Burns, of Livingston, Terri Miller Lewis and her husband, Alton Lewis, of Hammond, and Karla Miller and her husband, Billy White, of Livingston; stepson, Rodney Miller, of Livingston; grandchildren, Chris White and his wife, Delia, Brandon Rayborn and his wife, Jennifer, Coby Rayborn, Katie Burns and her husband, Phillip Davidson, Amie White and her husband, Garrett Ware, Whitney Lowry and her husband, Jordan Pedeaux, Cimberly Burns and her husband, Dustin Dubois, Carman Burns and her husband, Cameron Hutchinson, Ashley White, Meghan Lowry and fiancˇ Trevor Bergeron, Micah Burns, Erin Lawry, Jordan Lewis and his wife, Mary, and Katie Lewis; and great-grandchildren, Phillip, Anna and Emily Davidson, Trent and Makayla Rayborn, Joelie Stewart, Journey Rayborn, Makenzie, Jace and Colten Ware, John Michael and Andrew Hutchinson, Chevy Dubois, Samuel and Luke Pedeaux and Brindan Lewis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Flora Hansel Troha; wife, Anne Troha; father-in-law, Jackson W. Ratcliff; brothers, Frank Jr. and his wife, Margaret, Phillip, Ludy, Daniel and Alfred.
