Her first few years of teaching found her at Amite Elementary, Holy Ghost Catholic School and Merryland Kindergarten and PreSchool. She then found her home at Mater Dolorosa Catholic School in Independence where she taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade for eight years. Her desire to help Mater Dolorosa flourish brought her out of the classroom and into the leadership role as Principal of Mater Dolorosa for six years. These years spent with the students, teachers and families of Mater Dolorosa Parish were her most cherished. After retiring from her role as Principal, she returned to her alma mater of Southeastern to share her expertise and experience as an Instructor and University Supervisor of Student Teachers for six years.
